Hey, babes! So, you're thinking about renting one of our fab dresses? Sweet as! Here's the lowdown on our dress hire policy:

Browse & Book: Check out our killer collection online and pick your dream dress. Once you've found the one (or two, or three), book it for your desired date.

Rental Period: Our standard rental period is 4 days, so you'll have plenty of time to slay in your rented threads. Need it longer? No worries – just hit us up and we'll sort you out with an extended rental.

Try It On: When your dress arrives, try it on and make sure it's a perfect fit. If it's not quite right, let us know within 24 hours, and we'll do our best to find you a replacement or issue a store credit.

Wear & Work It: Rock that dress like the fashion queen you are! Whether you're hitting the town, strutting your stuff at an event, or just feelin' yourself at home, own it, babe.

Return & Repeat: When your rental period is up, simply pop your dress in the pre-paid return bag and send it back to us or drop it off to our location provided. Easy-peasy! And hey, if you've fallen in love with your rental and can't bear to part with it, just hit us up and we'll sort you out with a purchase option.

Clean & Care: We'll take care of the cleaning – no need to stress about that. Just make sure you treat your rental with love and respect, and avoid any major spills or stains.

So there you have it – our dress hire policy in a nutshell.

1. What dress sizes do you stock?

    Fashion Ruby NZ offers dresses in different sizes ranging from size 8 – 22. If possible, please try on the item prior to renting to get a feeling for the fit of the dress. Please also view the product description of each item for recommendations as we endeavor to be as specific as possible describing the size and fit of each garment to ensure you are choosing an item that will fit and look good on you.

    Note, fabrics may stretch from the very first wear or shrink from the cleaning process. Hiring means you will not receive a brand-new item. Please drop us an email if unsure.

    2. Does Fashion Ruby have a physical shop?

    We are an online based shop in Auckland New Zealand. We do not have a shop front at this time. We offer click & collect service for online pick-up orders to be collected from Manukau area, try on for our online dress hire service is available by appointment only. Full address will be given in your confirmation email.

    3. How do i know if an item is available?

    The calendar in our online shop will show the availability for each item. We will do everything on our end to ensure that our website is up to date with all the available stock we have on hand at all times.

    If you are unsure about the delivery times in your area or if you require your garment well in advance of your event date for travel or another reason, please send us an email to fashionrubyy@gmail.com We endeavor to reply to every enquiry within 24 hours (during business hours Monday to Friday).

    4. How long can i hire a dress?

    You can hire for 4 days, or 8 days.
    Your dress return will be on the last day that you have selected or Monday for a weekend hire. You must return your garment by 5pm on the final booking day unless the final selected day falls on a weekend or public holiday.
    All weekend hires are to be returned on Monday by 5pm.

    5. Do you deliver New Zealand wide?

    Yes, we deliver our garments to customers at confirmed residential all around New Zealand.

    6. How long will it take for my rented dress to be delivered to me?

    Your garment will be processed within 1 business day to be ready for pick-up and for delivery as well. We ship out all orders via overnight shipping with NZ POST which takes about 1-2 days to deliver.

    It is the customer’s responsibility to calculate how long the dress may take to arrive to your delivery address, and ensure that you place your order with sufficient time to ensure that the garment will arrive in time for your event. 

    It is the customer responsibility to confirm the correct address and mobile number in time for dispatch. Non-confirming may result in a forced cancellation of an order for a store credit or may result in the item not arriving in time. 

    7. Do you deliver or allow pick up on weekends?

    Yes, but must contact us 3 days prior to the weekend, just to ensure we have the garment available for hire and also someone is available to serve you in the weekends.

    8. How much is the shipping fee for dress hire?

    We offer a flat rate shipping fee of $25 NZD, you get two postage bags. One containing your garment and one for the return of your dress to us.

    PLEASE NOTE: You must either lodge your return over the counter at any NZ POST Shop and you must take a photo as proof. 

    9. Why do i have to pay the $20 NZD cleaning fee?

    All our items are returned directly to our cleaners after hire. Every item, even those only tried on or worn once, gets cleaned and goes through our meticulous quality control and repairs process upon return. Please do not attempt to clean the garment yourself under any circumstances.

    Depending on the condition in which a garment is returned to us, the cleaning costs us up to $45 NZD per item, but we only charge you a flat rate of $20 NZD.

    Our hire prices stated on the website do not include the cost of hand cleaning and any repairs (if necessary) to the garment after use. The cleaning fee is added to each garment you hire upon checkout.

    10. Do i have to pay a security bond?

    No, security bond required. When you place an order online you give us permission to charge your bank card in case of loss or damage of the item.

    11. What is the total cost for hiring a garment from Fashion Ruby NZ?

    The dress hire price as stated on the website + $20 NZD cleaning fee + $25 NZD return express postage. PICK UP is FREE.

    12. What payments do you accept?

    We accept Afterpay, Credit Cards (Visa / Mastercard)

    13. Does the dress arrive wrinkle-free?

    We do our best to ensure that every dress arrives to you wrinkle-free. After being steamed, all dresses are packed and sealed in clear polythene bag for protection. Please steam the garment DO NOT iron the dress under any circumstances, as this may cause permanent damage.

    14. What if i accidentally damage the dress?

    We understand that some wear and tear may be inevitable when wearing the dress you hire.

    Please contact us immediately if you’ve accidentally stained or damaged the dress so that we can prepare for its return and special cleaning and/or repair.

    If the damage to the dress is significant you may be asked to pay for any alteration costs or costs associated with the replacement of the garment and/or any loss of business we have incurred due to the garment no longer being available for rehire. 

    15. How do i return my dress?

    Returning your dress is quick and easy!

    After your event, simply place the garment in the prepaid return express postage satchel that we provide to you, and drop it at your nearest NZ Post Office on the day after your event.

    Weekend hires can be returned at any time before Monday 5pm. All other hires must be returned on the day after the event by 5pm.

    16. Is there a late fee for not returning the dress on time?

    Yes, late fee of $20 NZD per day. In cases where the dress has not been returned to Fashion Ruby by the Rental Return Due Date then Fashion Ruby shall be entitled to charge additional hire fees until the Dress is returned to us and the Customer expressly authorizes Fashion Ruby to deduct such additional hire fees from the Customer’s credit card which was provided at the time of placement of the Customer’s order. Such additional charges shall be charged a fixed fee of $20 NZD for each day overdue. 

    If the Customer has not returned the rental item(s) within 10 days after the return date, Fashion Ruby will consider the rental item(s) as non-returned and will charge the Customer’s credit card 100% of the recommended retail value stated on the item’s description page on our website minus any late fees that the Customer has already paid. 

    Damages Policy

    The Customer must inspect the Dress upon receipt of delivery and shall notify Fashion Ruby (by phone or email) of any alleged defect, shortage in quantity, damage or failure to comply with what was ordered.

    Fashion Ruby retains ownership of the dress property. All risk associated with the dress passes to the Customer at the time of us sending the garment to the customer at the post office. The Customer accepts full responsibility for the safekeeping of the dress.

    Customers will not attempt to clean, repair, or alter the garment(s) at any time without consent from Fashion Ruby NZ. If the dress gets damaged or has been returned with wear and tear, the client will pay the applicable repair/alteration fees – following a quote provided by Fashion Ruby NZ. The customer is not to arrange repair. In addition to the repair fees, the customer shall pay any loss of business and possible loss in value of item due to the damage incurred to the dress.

    If the item is damaged in a visible area affecting the look and quality of the dress and/or the damage cannot be repaired in a manner that will allow us to continue to hire the dress out, the customer is liable to pay 100% of RRP as stated on website or seek to replace garment within 7 days. The customer is liable to pay any loss of business incurred as a result of the dress not being available for hire the following week, if the dress was booked by the next customer and cannot be supplied due to delay caused by customer.

    We advise that clients who intend to hire items be extra mindful if using fake tanning products or perfume. In the event that fake tan stains a garment or perfume damages the fabric and rendering it unsuitable for rehire, Fashion Ruby NZ reserves the right to charge the Customer 100% of the recommended retail value as stated on item description on our website. The Customer expressly authorizes Fashion Ruby NZ to deduct such fees from the Customer’s credit card, which was provided at the time of placing the Customer’s order.

    Pick Up Policy

    Item collection is available from 1A Bougainvillaea Terrace, Goodwood Heights Auckland New Zealand.

    Monday – Friday 5pm – 9pm
    Saturday & Sunday - CLOSED

    Pick up is from my home address. We do not have a store front. YOU MUST CONTACT US first before you make your way to collect your order. 

    Refund Policy

    Fashion Ruby NZ does not offer refunds for our dress hire service. Our refunds are issued as non-expiring store credits only. With that credit you may book another item for the same event date where possible. No credit will be authorized for an item booked with a credit.
